Project update: Waddenboot “IJver”

Last Friday, our project ‘Waddenboot’ was officially named ‘IJver’, as the boat was christened by its new owner. After christening, the boat was sailed to our service yard in the centre of Enkhuizen. The finalizing in detail, commisioning and sea trialing will take place from there in the next two weeks, after which it will be delivered to the owner.
The project lead VMG Yachtbuilders and Olivier van Meer Design to an important conclusion. Looking at all reactions, we think this concept might appeal to many more people. Approved by IJver’s (IJ1) owner, we will further develop this kind of boat as a semi-custom conpet under the brand name ‘IJver-class’. A sturdy boat that is a crossover between a classic commercial vessel and a luxury motor yacht.
