JEFF: WORK IN PROGRESS BELOW AND ABOVE THE WATERLINE

Restoring a boat like “Jeff”, nearly a century old, is a careful and layered process. Every step reveals something new: areas that need attention, choices to make, and a chance to bring strength and structure back into her classic shape.

Over the past weeks, we have made solid progress. The potdecks have been stripped back, exposing the areas that required structural attention. Several parts have now been repaired or replaced to bring strength back into the hull without compromising her original construction.

Inside, the old tar in the bilges has been carefully removed. It was a demanding but necessary job to prepare the interior for the next phase. The bilge is now being painted grey, section by section.

The exterior, including the hull below the waterline, will be handled by our painter. Preparation and finishing of these surfaces will begin as soon as the structure is ready, and will be carried out using a carefully selected coating system.

Piece by piece, “Jeff” is taking shape again. Every layer removed and every section rebuilt brings her closer to her next chapter.
