SPORT FISH 50 UPDATE: HULL #1 NEARLY READY FOR LAUNCH

At VMG Yachtbuilders, we’re building a series of 50-foot sport fishing boats for a respected international brand client. These boats are destined for the American market, built to the highest standards with the quality and precision that define Dutch craftsmanship.

Hull number 4 has just arrived at our yard in Enkhuizen, while three other boats are currently in production. Hull #1 is now in the final stage of construction. She will go in the water for the first time in July for her initial test run. The hull has been beautifully finished, the interior is installed, and the team is now fitting the teak. And not just any teak. The cockpit features carefully selected teak with a clean and elegant finish, including the distinctive wide teak coaming around the cockpit that gives these boats their recognisable character.

The cockpit floor is complete, and the interior shows the level of detail and finish you would expect. After the first trials in July, we will focus on the final details before hull #1 is ready for delivery.

Meanwhile, hulls #2 and #3 are in the composite phase. The interiors, built by our own team, are already completed and ready to be placed into the hulls. Tubing and piping are being installed now, after which the engines will be fitted and the interiors installed, followed by final outfitting.

These boats bring together American sport fishing heritage and Dutch quality. It’s a pleasure to see this series coming together at our yard.
