What happens at the yard February
February was another busy month at the yard, with refits, new builds and finishing phases running side by side.
Patriot’s refit, carried out by Holland Jachtbouw as part of the VMG Group, is progressing steadily. Thraki Yacht Painting has applied primer to the deck, forming the base for the new paint system. Super Duplex Hulls handles the stainless steel work on board, including the railings. The deck has been measured and work towards the new deck installation has started. At the same time, the bar layout on the upper deck is being developed, with drawings in progress for both the bar top and its interior configuration.
Within the Sport Fish series, progress is also being made. The Flybridge version is clearly taking shape inside, with the mezzanine now being installed. On the Express version, Jongkind Service Medemblik has installed key systems such as the freshwater pump, black and grey water systems and the bilge pump. Work on the main switch panel has also started. Both yachts are steadily moving forward.
On the Puffin 42, the multi purpose solar arch and bimini has been installed. This stern structure supports the solar panels and includes a lifting system for storing the tender while underway. All cabling is integrated into the construction by Jongkind Service Medemblik. Inside, final interior details and system installations are being completed. Antifouling has been applied, and with launch scheduled for early March, we are now in the final weeks of construction.
Work on Jeff continues steadily. The steering console, galley unit and toilet space are being painted, the foredeck has been placed, caulked and sanded, and work on the floor installation is underway. The new aluminium roof will be fitted soon.
Selene and Sally are both at our yard for maintenance. On Selene, removable varnished exterior parts have been taken off for sanding and refinishing. Sally is undergoing sanding and varnishing as well, with several components removed for refinishing. Brovo Scheepsbouw has carried out maintenance on her main engine.
Simmerdream is nearly ready for delivery. The floor has received its final varnish coat and the swimming ladder has been installed. Only the final details remain before she returns to her owner.
With March just around the corner, we look forward to sharing more!
