WHAT HAPPENS AT THE YARD: DECEMBER

The final month of the year 2025 brought a steady rhythm of work to the yard. Some yachts returned for winter maintenance, while others moved forward in their build or refit.

Selene, a familiar face at VMG, is spending the winter inside one of our halls. Her mast and boom have been unstepped and placed in storage, and she will receive a fresh round of paint and varnish work over the coming months.

The Puffin 42 made steady progress on her interior throughout the month. Ceilings were fitted in the bathroom, toilet, owner’s cabin and guest cabin. Window frames were installed, trim pieces are in place, and brushed stainless steel elements have been added around the pellet stove. Step by step, the interior is coming together and we can’t wait to see the end results.

The second yacht in the Sport Fish series was a key focus this month. The stainless steel rub rail and cleats have been mounted, the hatches are nearly all in place, and the transom door has been fitted. Preparations for the deck and systems are ongoing, and the dashboard compartment is ready for further outfitting. The fish finder will also be installed soon.

Work on the restoration of Jeff also moved forward. The new potdecks are being installed, and work continues on the bilge and the damaged parts of the hull. Inside, the new steering console and bench are coming together, and construction has started on the toilet space.

A highlight this month was the start of the refit of Patriot, a project carried by Holland Jachtbouw, part of the VMG Group. This project also reflects the close collaboration within our group, with SDH actively involved in the first stages. Recent work includes the removal of the deck, dismantling of aluminium bulkheads from an earlier layout, cleaning up the old floor surface, and polishing the railing mounts.

Now that the new year has started, we’re looking forward to continuing these projects and welcoming new ones. On behalf of the whole team, we wish everyone all the best for 2026. Stay tuned for more updates from the yard!
